White Chicken Chili

Can we all agree that chili is THE comfort food staple? Whether I’m looking for a cozy weeknight dinner or an addition to a game day spread, it always hits. We’ve created our fair share of variations on the classic here at Delish, but this white chicken chili is one of my all-time favorites. Adding white beans makes this heartier than your average chicken noodle soup, and the addition of green chiles, jalapeño, and sour cream add the perfect amount of heat and creaminess to switch up classic chili. Plus, everything comes together in less than an hour (!!), making it an easy, no-stress dinner to cozy up to any time of year.

Flavorful White Chicken Chili made with hearty beans, tender chicken, and a rich and creamy broth. It’s a lighter alternative to traditional beef chili and makes for a super satisfying dinner! If you’re lucky to have any left it will make great leftovers for lunch the next day too.

This white chicken chili has a wonderful flavor and is especially good for a quick and hearty meal on a cold winter day. This recipe was given to me by a good friend and co-worker. It is the best!

This easy chili comes together quickly, thanks to rotisserie chicken or leftover roast chicken and an ingredient list that leans heavily on pantry staples. Made with canned chiles and seeded jalapeños, this chili has a mild heat that can be intensified with the addition of ground cayenne, or by leaving the seeds in the jalapeños. While some white chili recipes call for cream cheese or sour cream to thicken the broth, this one achieves a similar texture by mashing some of the white beans. If you prefer a creamy chili, feel free to stir in a large spoonful of sour cream just before serving. Or, include sour cream with a host of toppings — including crushed tortilla chips, shredded cheese, diced avocado and pickled jalapeños — to make this chili a customizable family favorite.
