Okay listen up. Over the weekend I came up with an AWESOME new jam recipe and it currently ranks in at the #2 spot right behind my all time favorite, carrot cake jam {which honestly, I can’t imagine will every get knocked off the #1 spot}.
This recipe for spiced Christmas jam is THE PERFECT jar of homemade goodness to make and take along with you this holiday season to pass along to not only your neighbors, but the favorite people in your life.
Spiced Christmas Jam 🎄
Ingredients:
– 4 cups fresh cranberries
– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
– 1 cup orange juice
– 1/2 cup water
– 1 tsp ground cinnamon
– 1/2 tsp ground cloves
– 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
– 1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)
– 1 packet (1.75 oz) fruit pectin
Instructions:
1️⃣ Rinse cranberries and discard any damaged ones.
2️⃣ In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, and water; cook until cranberries burst (10-15 mins).
3️⃣ Stir in spices and pectin; cook for 5 more mins until thickened.
4️⃣ Check consistency on a chilled plate; cook longer if needed.
5️⃣ Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice, and ladle into sterilized jars.
6️⃣ Seal jars and process in a boiling water bath for 5-10 mins.
7️⃣ Let cool, check seals, and store in a cool, dark place.
