Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese
Ingredients:
1 tbsp unsalted butter
4 slices Sara Lee Artesano Bread
4 slices mozzarella cheese, 1/8-inch thick
18 slices pepperoni, cooked in microwave for 20 seconds and grease dabbed off
For the garlic butter:
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 tsp fresh or dried parsley
1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp salt
Directions:
Prepare the Skillet:
In a medium skillet over medium-low heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
Place two slices of bread side by side in the skillet.
Add a slice of mozzarella cheese to each piece of bread.
Layer 9 pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
Add another slice of mozzarella on top of the pepperoni.
Top with the remaining slices of bread.
Cook the Sandwiches:
Cook each sandwich for about 3 minutes per side, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
Prepare the Garlic Butter:
While the sandwiches are cooking, melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a small microwave-safe bowl.
Stir in parsley, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt.
Add Garlic Butter:
Once the sandwiches are cooked, brush both sides with the garlic butter using a pastry brush.
Cook each side for an additional 30 seconds to allow the garlic butter to soak in.
Serve:
Remove the sandwiches from the skillet.
Sprinkle with parmesan cheese if desired.
Serve hot, with your favorite marinara sauce for dipping.
