I Love My Husband Milky Way Cake

For the Cake:

•6 Milky Way candy bars (regular size), chopped

•1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

•2 cups granulated sugar

•1/2 cup vegetable oil

•4 large eggs

•2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

•1 teaspoon baking soda

•1/4 teaspoon salt

•1 cup buttermilk

•1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Frosting:

•2 Milky Way candy bars, chopped

•1/4 cup heavy cream

•1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

•2 cups powdered sugar

•1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1.Preheat & Prep:

•Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

•Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish or two 9-inch round cake pans.

2.Melt the Milky Way Bars:

•In a saucepan over low heat, melt the 6 chopped Milky Way bars with 1/2 cup butter, stirring until smooth.

•Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

3.Make the Batter:

•In a large mixing bowl, beat the sugar, oil, and eggs together until well combined.

•Stir in the melted Milky Way mixture and mix well.

•In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

•Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients alternating with the buttermilk, mixing until just combined.

•Stir in the vanilla extract.

4.Bake the Cake:

•Pour the batter into the prepared pan(s).

•Bake for 40-45 minutes (or 30-35 minutes for round pans), or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

•Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

5.Make the Frosting:

•In a saucepan over low heat, melt the 2 chopped Milky Way bars with 1/4 cup heavy cream, stirring until smooth.

•In a mixing bowl, beat butter and powdered sugar together until fluffy.

•Add the melted Milky Way mixture and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

6.Frost the Cake & Enjoy!

•Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.

•Slice, serve, and enjoy this chocolatey, caramel-filled delight!
