Ingredients
•4 medium potatoes (peeled and sliced into thin rounds)
•1 large onion (sliced)
•3 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
•Salt and pepper, to taste
•1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
•1 tsp paprika (optional)
•Fresh herbs (optional for garnish, like parsley or thyme)
Instructions
1.Prepare the Potatoes – Peel and thinly slice the potatoes into rounds. Rinse the slices in cold water to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with a towel.
2.Heat the Pan – In a large skillet or frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat.
3.Cook the Potatoes – Add the potato slices to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 5–7 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the potatoes start to crisp and turn golden brown.
4.Add the Onions – Add the sliced onions to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5–7 minutes, until they soften and caramelize.
5.Season & Serve – Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes to combine the flavors.
6.Garnish & Serve – Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired, and serve immediately. Enjoy these crispy, savory fried potatoes and onions alongside your favorite main dish!
