Conchitas with Ground Beef
Ingredients:
1 lb ground sirloin
2 cups uncooked shell pasta
4 oz tomato sauce
1/4 small onion, chopped
1/4 bell pepper, sliced
4-5 cups water
1 beef bouillon cube
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Directions:
Brown the ground beef over medium heat in a Dutch oven. Drain any excess fat.
Add the shell pasta to the beef and stir. Let the pasta fry a bit with the beef.
Add the chopped onion, sliced bell pepper, tomato sauce, and all the seasonings. Stir well, ensuring the bouillon cube is broken up and dissolves with the heat.
Pour in enough water to cover the ingredients and bring to a simmer. Cook for 5 minutes uncovered.
Cover the pot and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, or until the pasta is tender.
