Ingredients
For the Bars:
•1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
•1 cup light brown sugar, packed
•1 large egg
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract
•1 cup all-purpose flour
•1/2 teaspoon baking powder
•1/4 teaspoon salt
•1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
For the Cream Cheese Glaze:
•4 oz cream cheese, softened
•2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
•1 cup powdered sugar
•1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
•1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
1.Preheat the Oven:
•Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
•Line a 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
2.Make the Batter:
•In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
•Add egg and vanilla extract, then mix until combined.
3.Add Dry Ingredients:
•Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until just combined.
•Do not overmix—the batter will be thick.
4.Bake the Bars:
•Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
•Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
•Allow to cool before glazing.
5.Make the Glaze:
•In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until creamy.
•Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk (as needed) and mix until smooth.
6.Glaze & Serve:
•Drizzle or spread the glaze over the cooled bars.
•Slice into squares and enjoy!
Notes
•For extra cinnamon flavor, sprinkle a little cinnamon-sugar on top of the glaze.
•Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
