Ingredients
For the Shortbread Crust:
•2 cups all-purpose flour
•1 cup unsalted butter, softened
•½ cup brown sugar
For the Caramel Pecan Layer:
•1 cup unsalted butter
•1 cup brown sugar, packed
•¼ cup honey or corn syrup
•2 tbsp heavy cream
•2 cups chopped pecans
For the Chocolate Topping:
•1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
•1 tsp vegetable oil (for smooth melting)
Instructions
1.Preheat & Prepare – Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2.Make the Crust – In a bowl, mix flour, butter, and brown sugar until crumbly. Press into the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
3. Prepare the Caramel Pecan Layer – In a saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar, honey (or corn syrup), and heavy cream over medium heat. Stir constantly until smooth. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes, then stir in pecans.
4.Assemble & Bake – Pour the caramel pecan mixture over the baked crust and spread evenly. Bake for 15 minutes, then let cool.
5.Add the Chocolate – Melt chocolate chips with vegetable oil, then drizzle or spread over the cooled bars.
6.Cool & Serve – Let the bars set completely, then cut into squares. Enjoy the gooey, crunchy, and chocolatey goodness!
