Amish Apple Fritter Bread Recipe
Ingredients:

For the Bread:
• ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
• ⅔ cup granulated sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1½ cups all-purpose flour
• 1¾ teaspoons baking powder
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ cup milk
For the Apple Filling:
• 2 cups apples, peeled, cored, and chopped (about 2-3 medium apples)
• 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Topping:
• ⅓ cup brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Glaze (optional):
• ½ cup powdered sugar
• 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
2. Prepare Apple Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the chopped apples with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Set aside.
3. Make the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, until just combined.
5. Layer the Ingredients: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly. Layer half of the apple mixture on top of the batter. Add the remaining batter over the apples, followed by the rest of the apples.
6. Add Topping: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the bread.
7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Cool and Glaze (Optional): Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. If desired, mix together powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze and drizzle it over the cooled bread before serving.
